This graph (click to enlarge) compares internet traffic over a 5 year period for Disboards, MousePlanet, AllEarsNet, MouseSavers and JimHillMedia.

Some interesting things are apparent:
- Traffic for each of these sites increased during the period after Eisner was ousted and before Iger became CEO
- Disboards is the only one of these sites that has increased traffic after Iger was appointed CEO
- MousePlanet was the most-often visited Disney site in 2005, while Disboards is the top in 2006
My theory on Disboards is that the site gained significant traffic due to Disney-Pixar rumors and eventual acquisition. In my mind, this acquisition solidifies Disney's position as being more creating and establishing a steady stream of new characters. Traffic to Disboards has not dropped off because members can start an active conversation on almost any Disney topic. Of course, as user-voting has indicated, some people prefer a more intimate site, so the size of Disboards can be daunting to some.
Conclusions/Recommendations:
- Disboards has maintained the traffic generated during the Eisner-to-Iger transition
- AllEarsNet has a loyal fan base and could benefit from a discussion board
- JimHillMedia does well in times of Disney turmoil but is perceived as being too negative by many Disney fans
