TheDisneyPortal.com was launched in June 2006 and was originally intended to be a summer project with my three children, all of whom were between 6 and 11 years of age at the time. We visit Walt Disney World on a regular basis and were interested in finding out more about Disney on the web. All we really intended to do was to put out a few links to the Disney sites we like the most, but the feedback we've received that says people value our Disney sites ratings has motivated us to continue this project.
We are indebted to a pair of Disney-loving students at the University of Virginia who have helped take this site to the next level. They have been instrumental in providing us with tools that help us collect real data on hundreds of Disney sites. This is a definite improvement over our efforts earlier this summer since all that manual work was becoming too tedious.
The legacy that Walt Disney has left has made a big impact on my family and many others. We enjoy surfing the web for Disney sites and seeing that others share our respect for Walt and love for all things Disney.
